6-Month Warranty Policy

At Prime-Tech, we are committed to providing you with quality pre-owned devices. In accordance with the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) No. 68 of 2008 of South Africa, all used/refurbished devices sold by Prime-Tech come with a 6-month warranty from the date of purchase.

What Does Our Warranty Cover?

  • Hardware defects and malfunctions not caused by the customer
  • Battery performance issues (where the battery falls below acceptable performance levels)
  • Screen defects not caused by physical damage
  • Internal component failures under normal use

What Is NOT Covered?

  • Physical damage (cracked screens, dents, liquid damage)
  • Damage caused by misuse, neglect, or unauthorised repairs
  • Software issues, viruses, or data loss
  • Accessories such as chargers, cables, and cases
  • Cosmetic damage that does not affect functionality

Your Rights Under the Consumer Protection Act

Under Section 56 of the Consumer Protection Act, you have the right to:

  • Return a defective product within 6 months of purchase
  • Request a repair, replacement, or refund at your discretion if the product is found to be defective

Prime-Tech will assess all warranty claims and resolve them in line with your CPA rights.

How to Submit a Warranty Claim or Return

  1. Contact Us – Reach out to our support team via email or WhatsApp with your order number and a description of the issue.
  2. Assessment – We will assess the device to determine if the issue is covered under warranty. This may require you to bring the device in or ship it to us.
  3. Resolution – Once assessed, we will offer a repair, replacement, or refund as applicable under the CPA.
  4. Turnaround Time – We aim to resolve all warranty claims within 7–14 business days.

How to Return a Device

  1. Ensure the device is securely packaged to prevent damage during transit.
  2. Include your proof of purchase and a note describing the fault.
  3. Contact us to arrange a return shipping label or drop-off.
  4. Once received and inspected, we will process your repair, replacement, or refund promptly.
